Christmas with The Mulligans is a predictable and patterened occasion. And so has a hefty element of the ritualistic about it.
It has eveloved over the years, and reflects the experiences both Desiree and Bryan brought from their own childhoods, as well as the roles of the three girls.
For example: always a 'real' (not plastic) Tree; decorations selected by the girls as well as inherited from their grandmother; the main meal is in the middle of the day; gifts are distributed one at a time - generally by the youngest of the family; and so on.
And The Day usually carries over to Boxing (or St Stephen's) Day, when we're joined by extended family, or others in town at the time!
And in this day and age we usually have a pictorial record of the event!
